Why We Go To College
In regards to the Robert Frost quote “We come to college to get over our littlemindedness,” I definitely agree. The point of college is to gain more knowledge, so we will be able to have really good jobs. I feel going to college helps people from having to settle for jobs they really don’t want. As of right now, I am a waitress, and I hate it. There is no way I will do this job for the rest of my life, so I am going to college to better myself, so I can get a good paying job that I actually enjoy. Unfortunately, I am not completely sure what my dream job will be. I know what I don’t want to do, but there are still many jobs I would love to do. I believe college is a very important part of our lives. Now don’t get me wrong. I hate homework and getting up at 6:00 a.m., but I know I have to do this because even though things are annoying, frustrating, and hard now, they will be much more annoying, frustrating, and hard if I do not go to college. I do my fair share of complaining about school, but I know this is the best thing I can do for myself. And yes I have lots of “littlemindedness”, but going to college definitely helps us get over it.

That getting up at 6 am will prepare you for getting up at 5 am to get ready for work and get the kids off to school. But yes, it is all worth it.
I was watching a video in one of my classes today about Haiti and their way of life. It is one of the most poorest countries and there is so much political violence that goes on. It made me think about how good I have it here. Those people don't have hardly any opportunities to pursue their dreams. It makes me sick when I think how much I complain about not knowing what I want to do with my college career.
I agree too. College is definitely the best place to better ourselves and decide what we want to do with our lives. I'm undecided with my major, and I dont know what lies ahead in the future. But I know I'm at the best place I can be right now-and that's at school (no matter how boring or tedious it might be).
Yes, that is exactly how I feel about this quote, too. There are some things about college that are not so nice but later on if you finished everything it will pay off. Everytime I stop appreciating what I have and how lucky I am I think about other people who are so much more worse off than I am, it helps!
